For new businesses

Accounting and compliance support for new businesses

Starting up means registrations, books, returns and deadlines, usually while you are busy building the business itself. We set up what you need, keep the books every month and file your returns on a fixed calendar. A short monthly update tells you what's done and what's due, so you can spend your time on running the business.

Common questions

Which business structure should I choose?

It depends on whether you plan to raise investment, how much personal liability you can accept, your expected turnover and how much compliance you can manage. Our article on choosing a business structure explains the trade-offs, and on a call we can look at your plans.

When do I need GST registration?

Registration becomes compulsory once aggregate turnover crosses the threshold: in Maharashtra, ₹40 lakh for businesses that supply only goods and ₹20 lakh for those that supply services. Some businesses must register regardless of turnover, for example most sellers of goods to other states. Others register voluntarily to claim input tax credit. We check what applies to you.

I use accounting software. Do I still need an accountant?

Software records transactions. Someone still has to classify them correctly, reconcile them with the bank and the GST portal, and file returns on time. That is the part we do.

Can you also audit our accounts?

If we maintain your books, independence rules generally do not allow us to audit the same accounts. When your business needs an audit, we work with your auditor and provide the schedules they ask for.

How are fees decided?

Fees depend on the registrations involved, how many transactions you record each month and the size of your payroll. We share a written quote after a short call.

Do we have to meet in person?

No. Most of the work happens over email, messages and calls. If you're in Pune, you're welcome at our office, or we can visit you.
